Our White-lipped Python
layed a healthy clutch of eggs on Thursday 12th June 2009, White-lipped
Pythons lay later in the year compared to many other python species.
Breeding has taken place
here at Midlands Reptiles this year to allow Woolfboids time to focus on
various new breeding projects.
If you express interest in
hatchlings, please contact us via e mail or phone, prices are around
£180 each.

This year Midlands Reptiles
were the second breeders in the UK to breed Pakistan Black Cobras (Naja
naja), this species once known as (Naja karachiensis) is now
classed under the same name as the more familiar spectacled cobra which is
geographically located around parts of India and Sri Lanka.
We were astonished to find
when the young hatched they have a full spectacle pattern located on their
hood, resembling the Sri Lankan locality (Naja naja), after several
sheds these magnificent cobras turn jet black with a patchy yellow under
side like their parents.
Incubation was surprisingly
short lasting only fifty three days, we incubated the eggs at 87 degrees,
fourteen eggs were layed, we lost 2 within the first two weeks and another
two within the last week, one snake died after a couple of days and one was
dead in the egg.
All together we ended up with
eight perfectly healthy Pakistan Black Cobras.
